What you need to know

How It Works
  • Starting off at the Better By Bike base in Arrowtown, following a safety briefing, riders have a choice of three trails.
  • The most popular ride is the Gibbston Winery Trail this is suitable for all riding abilities.
  • The Twin Rivers Loop is a longer ride at 30km and is a more remote trail ride but also a rewarding ride.
  • There is also the Lake Hayes loop via Millbrook, which offers an idyllic ride and an opportunity to sample some of the area's premium hospitality experiences.
  • Riders can choose to ride back to Arrowtown or call for a Better By Bike $35pp transport shuttle back to base.

  • This operator is open 7 days a week. from 9am to 5pm
Duration
  • The experience can be as long or as short as desired, up to a maximum of 8 hours

What To Bring
  • A helmet and a pannier are provided for each rider. Sunglasses, wet-weather gear and sturdy footwear are recommended. In the summer, bring swimwear for a dip in the river
Additional Information
  • For any rider medical conditions that may impact on riding an ebike, please check with a doctor before booking an ebike.
  • Riders may need to show Identification to enjoy the wares of the wineries, breweries or gin tasting venues.
  • There is no charge for rescheduling requested more than 24 hours before the ride.
  • There are no charges for changing a name on a booking.
  • In cases of inclement weather (very rare) Better By Bike will make a call on the day as to whether the conditions are acceptable for riding or not. If the ride cannot go ahead Better By Bike will try to reschedule or refund the trip.
Cancellation Policy
  • In order to receive a 100% refund, please cancel by 5pm 48 hours before the ride. For example, if the ride is booked for a Wednesday, please cancel by 5pm on the Monday.
  • Change your booking up to 48 hours before the start time of your experience​
  • Changes are not permitted within 48 hours of your experience​
  • Late arrivals or no shows may result in you forfeiting your experience
Booking Information
  • Confirmation in the form of a tour voucher will be received at time of booking
  • Upon completion of purchase, please print the voucher and present on day of the experience
  • Mobile Vouchers are accepted! - Vouchers can also be presented on your mobile device for this attraction
  • Availability was accurate at the time of booking however, is subject to change due to circumstances out of our control
