What you can expect

Discover the ancient Aboriginal culture of the Kuku Yalanji people on this full-day tour. Start with a scenic drive along the Great Barrier Reef Drive from Cairns. Upon arriving at Mossman Gorge Cultural Centre, you'll be welcomed with a traditional Aboriginal smoking ceremony. Take some time to explore the gallery and local crafts store before venturing into the ancient rainforest of Mossman Gorge. Choose either the standard tour, which includes an interpretive walk with an Adventure North Aboriginal guide, or upgrade to the Ngadiku Dreamtime Walk with an Aboriginal guide from Mossman Gorge Centre. In the afternoon, return to the centre for a delicious lunch at the Mayi Café. After lunch, visit Janbal Gallery for an art class with Aboriginal artist Brian ‘Binna’ Swindley. Learn ancient Dreamtime stories and local history, and see how these are expressed through art. Create a unique canvas to take home, using techniques taught by Binna and take home a meaningful memento of your trip.
