What you can expect

The Beautiful Barron River. The best place to enjoy white water rafting for the first time, with the family or just for a few hours of fun times. This half day eco adventure usually operates in the afternoons, from 2pm to 6pm, but sometimes it can be run in the mornings due to weather or capacity. So we’ve got two Barron River itineraries, check them out below, which are exactly the same except for departure times. The tour and times we’re running for the date of your intended travel will display during the booking process. Get ready for white water rapids and some calm water paddling in the spectacular Barron Gorge National Park.

Inclusions
  • Up to 2 hours rafting on the Barron River - Grade 2 -3 rapids
  • Tea and coffee at the end of your rafting trip
  • All tuition provided, no experience necessary (most of your fellow rafters will have never rafted before)
  • Hotel transfers from Cairns (if chosen at time of purchase)
  • $30 levy
Highlights
  • Top of the River - Gear-up with life jackets, helmets and paddles
  • Raft - From just below Barron River Power Station down a series of grade 2 and 3 rapids
  • Paddle - From the last rapid the short distance to Lake Placid
Time
  • Self-Drive - please meet at Lake Placid Tourist Park, Lake Placid Rd by 2.30pm (return at approx. 5.30pm. Please choose the "Lake Placid Car Park @ 14:30" location from the pick up list
  • From Cairns - transfers commence from approx. 2pm (return at approx. 6pm). Please choose your Cairns accommodation from the pick up list. If you have not yet booked accommodation, please choose the "TBA @ 13:45" from the pick up list

Additional Information
  • A Medical Questionnaire, Release & Assumption of Risk & Indemnity Forms are required to be completed prior to participation in white water rafting
  • No prior white water rafting experience is necessary, however good health and a positive attitude are essential
  • Minimum age is 12yrs
  • Rafting is not suitable for anyone who is pregnant
Cancellation Policy
  • 50% refund for cancellations made with in 48hrs of tour departure
  • No refund for cancellations made within 24hrs of departure

  • Confirmation in the form of a tour voucher will be received at time of booking
  • Upon completion of purchase, please print the voucher and present on day of the experience
  • Mobile Vouchers are accepted! - Vouchers can also be presented on your mobile device for this attraction
