Itinerary
  • Day 1: Wednesday Welcome to Broome - Beginning the Cultural Journey
  • 9:00 AM: Join Indigenous Tour Guide (Rahim) at the Willie Creek Pearls Meseum and Showroom for the Pearl Luggers Tour as he reveals the impact pearling has had upon Northern Australia and how the melting pot of cultures were enticed by the lure of the pearl.
  • 10:30: Join our only non-Indigenous Tour Guide, Chris Maher from Salty Plum Social, for the "Pearling Masters Trek" Walking Tour. This captivating tour weaves through the Chinatown precinct, showcasing heritage-listed buildings and unique global influences from China, Japan, Malaysia, and beyond. Explore the architectural marvels and public art that tell the story of Broome's pearling past. Visit two art galleries, where you'll savor pearl meat with a glass of bubbles. Concluding at Town Beach, the Pearling Masters Trek offers an unforgettable blend of history, art, and culinary delights, perfect for history enthusiasts and foodies alike.
  • 1:00 PM: Transfer back to your accommodation or location of your choosing. Free time until 4 p.m.
  • 4:30 PM: Join Johani at the Cable Beach Muwarrt Experience for an introduction to the expedition and an intimate storytelling session on the local Aboriginal culture.
  • 5:30 PM: Enjoy the sunset over Cable Beach before returning to your accommodation. Day 2: Thursday An immersion into Bardi - Jawi Culture - Stories, Learning, Hunting, Gathering, and a Traditional Dance Performance
  • 8:30 AM: Journey 200 km north of Broome, to the Lullumb Aboriginal Community in remote Bardi - Jawi country on the Dampier Peninsula.
  • 11:00 AM: A Traditional Welcome at Lullumb.
  • 11:30 AM: Embark on the Southern Cross Cultural Walk Tour with Bolo's and his family; learn about the traditional lifestyle in Bardi Country, and participate in traditional hunting, gathering, and feasting.
  • 3:30 PM: Experience a traditional Bardi - Jawi Dance Performance.
  • 4:00 PM: Depart Lullumb, drive to the Djarindjin Airport to catch the Scenic Sunset Coastal Flight back to Broome. Arriving back at your accommodation approx 6:30 p.m. Day 3: Friday A Cultural Cruise Through History and A Traditional Karajarri Gathering
  • 9:00 AM: Pick up from your accommodation for a Yawuru Cultural Cruise Experience with Bart Pigram.
  • 11:30 AM: Transfer back to your accommodation or location of your choosing. Free time until 3 p.m.
  • 3:00 PM: Transfer to Wakaj Meeting Place.
  • 3:30 PM: Participate in the Mabu Buru Tours Wakaj Experience - learn about Karajarri culture, taste traditionally cooked damper with locally harvested bush honey, and enjoy a traditional dance performance by the Pintirri Dancers.
  • 5:30 PM: Tranfer back to your accommodation.
  • 6:00 PM: Expedition Concludes!

  • Experience provider reserves the right to cancel or postpone any tour due to cultural, seasonal or road conditions or other unforeseen circumstances. 100% of the tour cost will be refunded or credit given towards another tour.

  • No cancellation fee outside 72 hours
  • 50% cancellation fee within 72 hours
  • 100% cancellation fee less than 48 hours
